I just bought a new mathews z7 xtreme. Before I put my g5 peep sight on it I was wondering how many shots I should put through it so the string can stretch. I heard if you dont do this than the peep will most likely turn

It all depends on the strings, and who/how they were made. If they are good quality strings then just 2-5 shots. If they are decent quality but not the best then 20-50. if they are similar to stock strings or worse then just put the peep in and fight it, because they wont ever stop moving.

I usually put about 80 arrows through before I have a peep put on. The Zebra strings don't stretch too much but they will stretch enough to cause your peep to turn. This is something that is often overlooked but needs to be done.

I've found on the Zebra strings anywhere from 50 to 100 shots is about what you need to break them in so your peep won't rotate. Personally, I install the peep and start sighting in and just move it as it rotates. Of course I also have access to a bow press whenever I need it. If you don't, you may want to shoot without it for awhile and then have your local shop install it for you.
