    Hey all,

So I'm getting ready to do some bow hunting next week (in Northern Virginia, if that makes any difference to anyone), and I'd like to get some insight as to your strategies. I just moved here from the Northeast, and I have relatively little experience going after turkeys. Would you suggest setting up early and calling them in to a single location? Or not using a blind and staying mobile?...I'm not using a full pop up blind - I have a tarp blind.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Does Virginia have a fall tom season? I know in Iowa its just a fall Hen season, and as for strategy with hens I dont have one, I dont call, if they happen to walk under the stand I pluck one with the bow. If they dont Im not going to go and try and find them... Just how a lot of us (my friends) do it. Only really call for toms in the spring. Hope it helps.

Yeah, here in VA you can take two in the fall, either sex. I'm thinking of staying on my feet and trying to get close to one and bring him in...
