Im getting ready to hang stands and im going to need to replace a few of the straps. I have been looking at amazon and the prices arent what i was looking hoping for, or maybe i was just really optimistic.

I am going to need to get a few ratchet straps for the stands and the lashing style straps for the sticks. I have been able to make a trips to home depot or wal mart yet to compare prices with amazon.

If anybody could help stir me into the correct direction on where to find them for good prices that would be great.

I use regular ratchet straps for the sticks and the tree stand. I like having my straps tight on the sticks so that way the sticks don't rub the tree and cause a squeaking noise. Just go to Walmart and some 300 pound ones. Because when you put both of the on your stand it can support 600 pounds.

Those dinky things are NOT designed to hold up a hang on stand or climbing sticks!! They're only used to keep both parts of a climbing stand tethered together - just like the video shows. You can't just use any old strap to hold you and your stand up or for holding a climbing stick up with you and all your gear.

donut757, check these out: http://amzn.com/B0052CPV46 (Four 8' Camo ratchet straps for $20 plus shipping)

I get my straps at Farm and Fleet, or Rual King.

when I look for ratchet straps, I look to see how long the end is that's attached to the ratchet. I like to keep them short so im not ratcheting the thing blindly around the tree, I like to be able to see the hooks secured, and the ratchet itself for peace of mind. that being said, home depot has 300 pounders with the shortness I like for $4.00 each. im scared to death of heights so I put 3 on the hang on stand...lol
