So I went to check my cam after being out about 1.5 weeks. Camera was off and wouldn't turn on. Messed with batteries and it came back on, with only 9 pictures. However, the new mineral block i put out was broken into two or three pieces, just a small block to start.

Got home and no deer on those pics. Any chance deer broke the block? Or did someone mess with camera and block?

Check your pic count and see if the numbers are in order, you can always google sd card pic recovery and see what has been deleted if anything on the card. I always use a zip tie on the cam door to see if anyone tampered with the sd card.

Great tip about the zip tie, never thought about doing that.

good point about checking the picture numbers. didn't really think about it.

It's private land, but I'm new to the club and don't really know the other guys in it.

If you said it came back on after you messed with the batteries that may have been the problem. I have had the sort of pop out without actually coming out. They may have lost just enough contact to make that cam quit. ultramax, I love the idea with the zip-ties.

    Blessings.......Pastorjim

Makes you wonder about the block being broken up. Could be the camera just wasn't working when someone did that.

Wait, the camera was off? Was the switch off or the camera just not operational with the switch on.

It sounds like someone is screwing with you, salt blocks don't just break up sitting out in the field, they melt down from elements and deer but not break.

My guess is someone turned it off, broke the block up to be a Richard and the camera sitting there idle the batts probably lost a bit of contact.

    Found your problem lol

Not sure why but all of my Moultries did the same thing, Brand New batteries lasted 2 to 3 days and after that cam never worked again.

If you are out of warranty, take it apart and check all solder connections.

The camera was still on, just feel like the batteries were popped out a little. Just found it surprising that the block would be broken after such a short amount of time. When I messed with batteries it fired back up.
