We had a storm cell roll through yesterday AM and we had about 2 minutes of straight line winds that surged through a portion of the Resort. It took two of the biggest trees on the property down, turned a couple wooden chairs into fire wood, and dropped two power poles.

Luckily no on was hurt, but one of our guest's minivans was totaled. We were the only place that got damage in the area. My dad is 300 yds down the shore and he didn't even have a stick down in his yard:confused:

    Here's the biggest pine-

At least it missed the cabin! Lots of that stuff going on this summer. Good luck with the clean up, no shortage of fire wood now.

Holy crap dude, that's crazy! Glad nobody got hurt. Those little microbursts can really put a hurt on things in quick order.

And I think you're gonna need more than that 025 to finish that tree off. I just had an 056 with a 26" blade that I got rid of. Maybe I'll call the guy and send him up your way. :D

Thats pretty crazy and the damage could have been a lot worse. Glad no one was hurt. I recently had a 100'+ silver maple fall in my yard. Missed the house and only took out about 20' of chain link fence, so from a damage standpoint, it was a best case scenario. I'm just glad my kids weren't playing in the yard at the time.

Here's another showing the size of the logs.

Here's a good shot of the van. Not the direct hit I first thought, but it's still totaled.

We got a ton of brush cleaned up today. I'm moving the logs tomorrow since I rented a bobcat for a second day. Never a dull moment, that's for sure!

Me, my wife and Anna (one of our employees). I got it all cut yesterday, plus two other trees. Today the girls hauled brush while I cleared some areas for a building project we have coming up. Tomorrow I'll use the bobcat I rented to haul and place the big logs so I can use them later (most likely benches or slabs for tables)
