So as the title says I had both of my cameras stolen this year. I had some personal things going on in my life the last few months and wasn't able to go get them. And i can't believe i left them out so long, but I just couldn't get out. I finally go out today and both of them are gone. One was so discreet and hidden, I don't know how anyone found it...but they did. Other than being livid I now need new cameras. Looking to spend around $150 each. Any suggestions? And I am sorry in advance if this is the wrong area for this but it seems appropriate.

I have had good luck with the smaller moultries and Bushnells. Watch Natchez shooting supply they sometimes runs specials on trail camera for half the price. Sorry you have too deal with jerks.

I'm hanging them high now too. I drag a 10' folding ladder and get them up around 15'
I know they will still get stolen but at least the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing booger pickers will have to work a little to get them.

Yea, that stealing crap is out of hand anymore. I think a lot has to do with luck as far as a cam being stolen. I put 2 cams out every season (13 years) for about 3 months on Public land, SO FAR I haven't had one stolen. I put mine in discrete locations as well, but still get an occasional pic of another hunter, or a dog walker. I just haven't had a thief come past one yet. lol

I had one stolen less than 100 yards from some friends house in Ohio, in the middle of a subdivision off of a private drive this past year....

Thanks for the input guys. This does suck, but at least they can be replaced and I learned I have to be more discreet with putting out more cameras. Not the club I wanted to be a part of, but you have to look at it as a learning process. And Sam, I like those MP8's! I think I found my new cams.

Awesome bro! The MP8 is a great camera. It is a hassle to have to take a ladder in with you every time you check cams, but it is necessary to keep thieves from "Easily" stealing your cameras.

Yeah well i am changing spots obviously, but when they don't get stolen and i still get great pics it will be worth it. Gonna also put a old dummy cam out to see if i can catch someone massing with it.

Btw, i ordered 2 MP8's last night. Got them off amazon for $115 for a mossy Oak and $125 for a real tree. And free shipping with Amazon prime.

get those cameras that send the pics to your phone as they happen... if they get stolen again at least you'll have a pic of the thief you can post on all the phone poles around town...

I think I'm going to try 2 LW sticks, instead of carrying a ladder.

It takes 10 seconds to cut through a python lock with a hack saw. I had to cut one of mine when I lost the key.

Most locks can be cut in 10 seconds, the operative word was/is "deter".

Yeah that will work too. Good idea! I don't have LW sticks, but I am looking to get some soon.
