I like this idea for sketchy locations. They would at least have to come back in order to steal it.

Exactly. What would be perfect is one of the camera to phone cams but they're so expensive.

Hey Caleb, I have a setup similar to this. Disc Lock and Python cable. Works really well. Though I don't use Cuddebacks, you get what I am saying. :tu:

The key here is the shrouded lock. The python cable or a regular padlock can all be easily defeated by a pair of bolt cutters. That shrouded lock is a bit tougher though.

Put a camera out and use it as bait while you watch from a tree stand and a quiver full of blunts....

Agreed! The python cable is only there to slow them down. It is not a great theft deterrent.

That's how you go to jail. Just like the paint bomb...you can't do that in America anymore.

Ah I see there the criminals are also protected, Rather have a safe and happy thief than help someone who lost hard earned belongings. It is quite sad.

How about taking that metal box and secure it to the tree with 2 of the disk padlocks and a nice piece of rolled flatbar? The flatbar can be roled in different diameters to fit different trees and be held up with 'n pin in the tree just above the camera, so the flatbar does not have to sit tight. Or keep it tight with a normal strap and have the flatbar keep it safe from the thieves.

I also found if you have a big enough tree and can hang the cameras far enough away from the main trunk it makes them even more difficult to spot. I like to use a mount that I can screw into the top side of the branch and angle the camera down. I've actually done this to monitor how often a WIHA (Public) property is being accessed.
