When I returned to compounds from 3 decades of trad shooting/hunting in 2010, I went pretty simple with a single cam bow, single pin fixed sight and a 4" rubber stab. I was pleased to kill a couple deer that fall and continued in my process of refinement.....just as I had with custom recurves. In regards to stabs, I went to a bit longer aluminum version and then on to carbon....6" and then 8". That has pretty much been my foray into stabs until recently, when I did some searching of the Stokerized lineup. Their SS1 is a fairly unique design, but the Statis models are a step above in my opinion. They serve as a front and back bar stab setup in one unit and the quality is top shelf. I found a virtually new Stasis Edge through a fellow on AT and it arrived today. It is aluminum vs. carbon to keep the price point down and is also smaller (11" vs. 15" or 19") for the more elaborate Statis models.....which makes it great for a hunter. After shooting it, I am glad I took the opportunity and feel it is going to be a good addition to my Prime Rival.

I guess no one has any experience with this stab setup but me......so far. I've been playing with the positioning of the back bar portion and believe I have it at or close to the "sweet spot". It was only mildly breezy this afternoon, so I took my Rival out and shot it at 30 yards to see how my turkey rig was tuned with a bit more challenge. With the Edge setup, it was very steady and spot on.......as long as I did my part.

I've used it.. Not a giant fan. Bee stinger came out with something similar this year that looks pretty slick. I like having separate bars if i'm running a rear bar for a hunting set up. Gives you a little more fine tuning

Everyone has a personal opinion on archery gear or else you would all be coveting MY bow. After shooting in the wind and also longer distances, the Stasis Edge is really proving to be a good investment on my Rival. A Bowfinger back mount costs more than I paid for this slighly used Edge, plus you have to add another stab and more mass weight. That just wasn't for me, so this route is a very solid solution.....with more adjustability than an SS1 or the same type that has been copied by others. I heard Stokerized has gone after some people for patent infringements......
