OK, I usually buy shoes a year in advance to get rid of the smell. Does anyone have any tricks to shorten this time? I bought a pair of Scentblocker boots for cold weather hunting that are going to be ok for using this year. Very little smell to start with and they're about aired out now following a good scrubbing with scent control laundry soap. My problem is I also bought a pair of Wolverine Sentlok Snare 8" boots for early season hunting. They wouldn't have needed the scentlok in them, the new rubber smell from the camo soles would overpower any stinky foot odors! LOL! I'm wearing them to work today and I can smell them sittin at my desk. Not constantly but pretty regularly. I've aired them out and washed them with the same soap and can't tell it's done much good yet. Any ideas?, other than wearing my rubber boots again this season. lp
dang bro, sounds like you are doing everything possible, got any farms around you? usually a walk thru some cow pies will do it but then you wont wanna tie ur boots!!!!
Thanks, but there's no cows on my lease right now. Haven't been going on 2 years. Shoes seem to be the hardest thing to get rid of smell on for me, guess I'll just put em somewhere and let em air out for a year. Year before last I ordered some new bow Sims limbsavers for my 04 Hoyt Supertec and they smelled horrible. I got busted the first time out and that was after letting them sit outside for awhile and spraying the heck out of em with scent killer. Didn't get to use them till last year. Had to let em ride around in the back of my truck for a year! I wear a Scentlok suit and know I covered everything but them. Took them off and got back to my usual stealthy self. I'll just have to wear my Lacrosse rubber boots for another year. lp
