Yeah, heading home. Pretty sure I was looking in right area. They were about to walk out of sight when I let go. Didn't have too much time to watch. Had a lumenok on there. Don't know if it activated, but I didn't see it. Be back in the morning.

Deer don't move much in daylight with 65-80 degree weather. Most deer don't travel over 300 yards this warm...

Man, it was crazy! I was gonna go to a different spot, but something told me to go to this one. I planned on sneaking around back along the creek. I tried crossing the creek, but it was too fast and deep. I went back to the road and down the other side of the creek and through the nastiest thickest stuff to get to the tree line by this open marshy area. Found my tree and went up about 20', had open lanes to the left and right.
Right at sunset I saw a head sticking up to the right at about 40 yrds eating leaves. I said to myself "Oh my god, its a deer!". My legs started shaking. I stood up, and then sat back down again. After a few I stood back up and leaned against the tree, legs still banging at the knees! Couldn't see the deer anymore and waited. Seemed like an eternity, but then the doe popped out about 18 yrds away followed by a bigger doe!
I tried to turn to face them, they heard me and both looked up, so I froze. They went back to grazing, so I turned all the way to the right. The small doe was in front blocking the bigger one at this time. I tried to draw, but the tree and tether were in the way. They saw and both looked back up, I froze again. They put their heads down and started to walk off to the right. I drew back just when the big one was disapearing, and the other one was right behind her, quartering away. It was almost dark at this point. I put the pins on her and let fly, in my cramped and awkward form. I heard this THWAK, like I've never heard before, and they bolted. You guys know the rest.

This is awesome. I was diggin the play-by-play a few pages back. I was amazed when I saw 5 new pages appear in about that many hours. I hope you nailed her good and find her tomorrow. Good luck man. Will be checking this thread continuously when I get up tomorrow. I'm in CA so you have some daylight before I'm even considering getting up.

Yeah, it was a little rushed. It all happened so quick! I was a nervous wreck too.

Spend as much time in the woods as possible and learn from it. Theres clues all over the place just keep reading the forum and learn from everyone, look on Google earth for natural terrain funnels inbetween food sources and bedding areas. Goodluck , keep your head up

Did you mark the spot with your GPS? Also, turn on your GPS when you begin the tracking tomorrow. It will show you the areas you have covered so you don't waste time. Keep us up to date with any info such as what your arrow looks like especially if you can snap pics of blood and such!

GO get that deer! I am pumped for you.

Keep looking for blood. Your arrow may still be in the deer.
