    Oh boy..............another?

Lets hear the details. Where do you think you hit them. How far was it? What did the deer do right after you shot?

There were 2 does, just at last light. Big and small. Think I got the small one, about 18 yrds. Of course they came on my right and I had to try to draw on em a couple times, because the tree and my tether were in the way of my elbow.

What did the deer do when you shot it? How was it standing? Broadside? 1/4 away?

Quartering away. Let it fly and just heard a big thud, and they took off.

Can you see your arrow down there? Did the deer run real fast? Hunch over? Mule kick?

How far did it run before you lost sight?

They were out of sight quick! They were leaving when I shot. Couldn't see my arrow, probably the one lumenok with a dead battery! Think I her some twigs snapping over there. I'm going down now.

What ever you do don't track it. At least yet. Maybe in like 20 min. Quietly get down and see if your arrow is at the point you shot it. Then report back with your findings on the arrow and what type of hair is there and if any blood and color.

Just listen for a crash. How far away does it sound like they are?

Doesn't sound like running. Maybe it laid down. Didn't here crash. They took and made a bunch of racket though.

Bedding down is a good sign if that happened. Listen, with those temps and you not knowing where you hit the deer I suggest you give it overnight. I would sit there for about 20 min and if you don't hear anything further then get down quietly and sneak out of there in the opposite direction.

I don't know. That would be great info no doubt but of he thinks they are bedded close by I would hate for him to go anywhere towards those deer right now. He probably won't be tracking tonight anyway so he us best to wait. Unless he thinks he can get to the arrow without bumping anything.
