I mentioned water and downhill. He said theres no water and its all flat! He was heading towards some thicket-type stuff last time I talked to him and I said she's probably in there because if its thick she probably felt safe last night.
Sorry I think the bed was a false alarm. Way past that. I'm in a thicket now. Blood getting scarce. Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk 2
I'm telling you that deer is dead and is very likely within a 100 yards if you right now. Keep your head up. If you run out of blood its not the end of the world. You still got the grid searching and the dog at your disposal. I would not be surprised if that deer is by he creek. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Found poop and more blood. She was on a trail now heading towards creek. Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk 2
Hopefully he has marked the trail well ... I am betting she is dead in the thick stuff ... and prolly not too far ... he still has blood ... this reminds me of my buck from last year .... my opinion is to wait for reinforcements if he loses blood ... that doe is dead and close ...
Look back as you walk also...sometimes slightly off of the trail, you can look back and see the white belly. Good luck!
The only thing that concerns me is we don't have a bed yet. I'm not sure how far he is but it would of been nice to know she bedded close to provide evidence that he hit her good. But she could of just head to the creek right away on a liver shot. Hard to say. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Looked at creek bank, nothing. Went back to last blood, about 20 yrds from creek. Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk 2
I am curious if the blood may have changed in appearance from old and dry to fresh and shiny? How far have we traveled now? It sounds like a long way for a liver hit deer that wasn't bumped last night.
If you are still on blood your are doing great. If you get fatigued get some food and water before continuing. Being hungry and tired does not help with the tracking process. I would not be surprised if that deer is bloated and dead within 50 yards of that creek.
Can you take a pic of the latest blood? If a deer is walking the blood will hit the ground and splash forward making fingers in the blood. The fingers point in the direction of travel. This is not always fool proof but it helps if blood is sparse.
She may of been bumped. We don't know. He did mull around looking for his arrow and blood for awhile. I agree though. Did you smell the arrow? And? This is important. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
