We are at T minus days in the double digets here in Wisconsin for the September 17 opener. Only 99 more days. It will go fast. But that is a good thing.
I don't look at it as a certain number of days away, but after July 4th vacation it goes pretty quick. The rest of July this year will be spent finishing my new home. August will be split between the river lot and food plots and September will be wood cutting. Oct 1st will be here in no time.
Its been so hot here, hunting hasn't been on my mind that much yet. I'm getting a new string and cables put on my bow this weekend. After that, just waiting for the evenings to cool off some so I can shoot.
I know as our seasons get close we all get more excited. But i was taught to belive that deer hunting is open all year. Is the shooting that is so short. I am constantly out watching my area taking pics fixing stands and building plots. It's those dam turkeys that get me goin lol
Man it just seems like the other day when we had that blizzard back in Febuary. Yep it will be here quicker then you know it. T
Everyone knows by now that last season was my first and I am already eat up with deer fever. It has yet to get better even out of season. I think it has made it worse. I am setting stands now and constantly looking for new signs of deer travel. This season is on!! 93 more days to go and counting. Spetember 11th is our opening day.
It was 101 degrees in MN on Tuesday. It's going to be down around 50 degrees tonight. I still don't know why people complain about -20 in the winter, I think it's lovely.
ANYTHING is better than hot and humid. Not sure I enjoy -20 but it sure beats hot and humid by a longshot.
