The past 3 mornings Ive hunted Ive had NO wind for the first few hours each morning. I am not seeing any movement by their traditional bedding areas and travel routes. I am thinking they are just relying on the heavy thermals and may be travelling down low in the creek bottoms. Well tomorrow morning it is going to be the same exact thing, NO wind for the first several hours.

Creek bottom stand? I'll be honest I don't have a lot of experience with windless days as the wind is generally blowing pretty hard this team of year. Thanks for any help.

Morning thermals are going to cause scent to rise. Hunt high in morning, low in evening based on thermals.

Can also hunt low, once the thermals kick in move up. You have to be where the deer are, follow your instincts.

You'll have an hour or two of shooting light before the thermals begin to rise. (Guestimate) That's in the terrain I hunt and I'm guessing VS is in a similar type.

If you have another location in mind for when the thermals switch then I'd say jump in.

Where I hunt it generally takes about two hours for those thermals to really kick in. I wind checked this morning and my thermals didn't get affected by the rising thermals for nearly 1.5 hrs, everything was sliding downhill.

I love to hunt mornings but due to my family's schedule, Ive only be able to hunt from sunup to early afternoon. Tomorrow I will finally be able to hunt an afternoon. I don't mind hunting low for a few hours, then moving into a cruising set up like the side of a hill within a saddle or something.

    The mornings have been terrible.

Take the shot and try it - Sounds like you have your mind made up since you're not seeing much up top.
