i have the qad hunter rest on my bow. i took it to have it paper tuned and they said it was shooting fine but yet i still notice fletching contact and the fabric on the fork is wearing away again from that so i know it is causing probs. Any suggestions even after paper tune was fine per the shop.

Contact on the forks of the rest? Thats odd because the forks are supposed to clear completely and if they dont drop out of the way you must have a defect or the string attached to your cables isnt installed correctly. I recommend you put some lipstick or something similar around the edges of the forks and the top bar. Take a few shots and if you see lipstick on your vanes you have contact with the rest. I have been shooting the QAD ulta rest and havent experienced this, lemme know if you figure it out.

The QAD Hunter rest is their low end rest...mainly for slower youth bows. (I know they come in the "bowhunter package" for the Mission Craze) and often aren't fast enough to get out of the way. Switch to a QAD LD or HD and you shouldn't have that problem.

The hunter model has a removable capture arm. I have seen where the cock vane facing up will hit on the bar and force it down to the forks. You may want to try removing it just to see if it changes the tune and stops the contact with the forks. And the rest is more than likely droping fast enough.

The hunter model is their low end but it is just as fast as their other models. It doesn't have the lock down feature to keep the rest from bouncing back. As well as some other features.

I've never had an issue installing a hunter model on any bow that couldn't easily be resolved.

Make sure the rest comes up in the last 1/2"-1". NO SOONER. If there is still contact issues, remove the launcher arm and install the taller arms and retune and time. Should eliminate all contact issues.

1 cam I've found it best to have the Nock 1/8" high and 2 cams or hybrids should be level.

One issue I had with my bow was after factory strings creeped, I had to retie my loop because my Nock height was off and created contact.

ive had it retuned already and the shop didnt give me the other forks with it....they installed it, i had contact took it back had them readjust it. they set the timing and moved the string. paper tuned fine with one shot and went shooting and noticed forks were making contact...i dont have any of the other parts to swap em out and i dont really wanna remove the arm cuz i like the full capture. contemplating just getting a new rest if i cant get this one tuned right and so far no good with it.

The shop should have plenty of the extra launcher arms laying around and 1 belongs to you.

I have this rest as well. If your pro shop paper tuned it correctly (which it sound like they did) then you shouldnt have any contact problem. This rest is very LOUD. It sounds like the arrow is making contact but its not. When the forks release they make a loud slapping sound. I thought for the longest time that i was making contact but I did the lipstick test and I was not making contact. After Turkey season i will be making a rest switch and go with the Ripcord code red.

Not saying you would have to leave the capture arm off I just would try shooting it without it just to see if thats the problem so your not changing other things for nothing. If it is hitting the bar at least you would know what needs to be addressed before switching launchers, changing timing ,changing nock hieght etc.

That is one if the hardest rest on the market to tune correctly in my experience.

That's strange, I always thought the QAD rest were very quiet.

Not this particular rest. I had a revolution rest before the QAD and the revolution was a whisper compared to the QAD.

Sounds like it might be smacking the shelf. If so that's not set up properly.

Something to look at, might save you some money.

All fall away rests make some noise.
My QAD rest makes no more noise than my friend's Code Red.
Will admit that the my son in laws Revolution rest is quieter than both.

I added a piece of velcro to the arrow shelf. First it quieted the arm slap, 2nd it quieted the shelf when nocking an arrow from arrow shaft contact with the shelf. You can buy the 2 in velcro at any fabric store, trim carefully with razor blade.

the noise isnt my issue with the hunter rest the internals are different from wha the LD and HD have according to the shop. Also after reading some other post about the qad issues, i seem to have the standard launcher on it, i dont have a tl-1 marked on it or nothing like other pics have shown and it is nocked about 1/8th inch high and lined up correctly. still dont have any idea, im shooting it tomorrow again so i will see what it does then but have a feeling its not gonna go well ha.
