Where I hunt it would be illegal for me to shoot him, gotta have 4-points on one side. So I would let him walk. lol.

Completely situational. One week trip somewhere vs somewhere you hunt year in and year out. Other mature bucks around? One buck state or multiple tags? A ten point broken like that is much more likely to be shot than a 6 point... The thing that made that buck so cool was the fact he was a huge six point which he isn't anymore.

But bottom line it's up to what makes you happy, that is after all what we hunt for.

Well, I decided to still shoot after all. Unfortunately it was not a bow kill (I know im in the wrong section for that, just adding it to this thread instead of making a new one) but I worked almost the entire bow season and Im a wuss and don't bow hunt in the cold. Wanted meat, so took my rifle out for the first time in 5 years. He was a fighter, broke his rack again since I started this thread, and had a huge wound on his neck that was not looking good at all. He lived on my land, every place I set up a cam I would get pictures of him, every corner of my 120 acres. He was bedding by the main bedding area I have, and I haven't seen many other bucks come from that hill side this year, pretty sure because of him. Considering hes a bully and probably keeping other bucks out, along with the fact he wasn't going to get much bigger really, I decided he was a good rifle kill and will provide a lot of meat. So that's a win win in my book!

Congrats on the buck, always satisfying to shoot a deer you put a hit on.
