i need another saw for minor felling, limbing, and hinge cutting. I already have a 290 farm boss, but want something else to keep in my atv and for the mentioned. what would be a good saw?

Stihl or Husqvarna. Something in the 45cc range for the work you are describing.

I use a Husky 142, I believe it is. Its older but, I know it is a 42cc. 18" bar. I like it a lot. I stap it to the back rack with a couple bungies and hit the trails.

I'll never buy anything but stihl again when it comes to saws. They are amazing.

What's wrong with taking the 290? There's not much you're gonna save in the weight department. I'd invest the money in a good ATV rack to carry it and use the 290.

Edit: If money weren't an issue, I'd likely get a MS 200, but can buy 2 more 290s for that price.

I got the smaller size stihl with 14" bar and I use it for everything except the big hedge wood just because it's so light

Stihl 017 w/14" bar and a Stihl MS361 w/20" bar. Love them both.

I know it's not a Stihl. But, I have a Jonsered CS-2152. Never had any problems with it and I've cut some very large elm, oak, silver maple trees with it.
