My season has come to an end with one antelpoe, one turkey and one doe down.

I got to my farm around noon Saturday and checked my trail cams around my food plot. There was good daylight activity on 2 trails with does and bucks coming to the plot between 4:30 and 5:00 the last few days. So I got in my stand near one of the trails a little before 3:00. At 4:40 5 does moved into the plot about 60 yards away and ate for a bit and moved out of the plot. A little after 5:00 another group of does was headed right at me, not sure how many there actually were but 3 were going to pass 15 yards in front of me. I was concentrating on them and moving into position when one behind me starts blowing and cleared the woods in a second. Not sure if she saw me or smelled me, but I was busted.

Sunday morning I set up on the ridge I found the beds on last weekend above the neighbors bean field. I saw no deer that time out.

Sunday evening I set up on the other trail into the food plot. I saw 2 forkhorns and a couple of does cross through the plot a hundred or so yards away. None came in on the trail I was on.

It was a tough year for most guys in the area.

Now you have all these months to dream about that big 10 walking by you next fall.

Like I said in the text, it wasn't for a lack of effort. Thanks for keeping me posted throughout the season.

I think it's reversed MOJO. You claimed to be sending it to us but I think you were sucking it out of us for yourself. :p

John, like I said via text, it was a great run brother. Next season will be here before we know it.

Way to hang in there until the end. Wished you would have had a little better luck for your effort.

Tough season John. I know of a LOT of guys with similar outcomes this year, that all typically put good ones down. Lots of guys saying they had multiple encounters with some really great bucks, but couldn't get it done. Myself included.

Do you know if neighbors took any of the good ones you knew were around?

I heard rumors of a big 12 pointer taken in the neighborhood during gun season. But never saw pics or had any of a 12 pointer on my cams. Other than that Greg's buck from my place and 2 other 115-120ish bucks from my neighbors. Most guys I talked to had similar seasons to mine, a few sightings but not being able to close the deal.

It was a tough season in Illinois for sure John. I think we could see an epic season starting this October considering harvest numbers are at their lowest since 1999;)
