Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had any "steps" before you shoot at a deer. Kinda like a 1,2,3... checklist. Anyone?
The mechanics you practice when not hunting are what will help you put a shot on a deer when the time comes. I always have fundamentals go through my brain before I shoot. Find the anchor, relax the hand and squeeze the trigger. I replay that mantra in my head up until the point when I actually draw. From there on out, I'm on autopilot. The same thing goes when I shot a deer with a muzzy. Breathe in, exhale, breathe in, let it out slow, squeeze the trigger. As most guys on here will tell you, it's all about consistency. If you can maintain that, you'll be fine.
Pretty much the same here. I haven't arrowed a deer yet but, its coming this year. When I do, It will be: draw slow and steady, find anchor points, line up sight ring, put pin on target, relax, squeeze and follow through.
I do the check list when practicing. But like was said I pretty much go on autopilot when it's a deer
Auto pilot for me to but the main one for me is DONT rush the shot, let it play out and I will know when its right. If it dont happen it dont happen. Took me many years to get that one straight. Now is it the season yet??
I know right!!! Its driving me crazy and I'm driving my wife crazy!! lol I have only a few more things to do and I am ready. September 11th come on already!!!
