My bottle of dead down wind has a sort of bacon-ish sent to it. I don't recall noticing this with my previous bottle. Any thoughts??

You know what... My dad and I BOTH bought bottles of scent free soap for showering in the morning..(you know what I am talkng about)
and he siad that he smelled something funny with his, then i starTed smelling myne, and it was kinda funky too.
I just figured with all the spices, annd stuff that I had been around the first day, that some of that stuff was still in my nose or something.

I've noticed with my DDW products they smell similar to a campfire....

I thought I was just smelling something funky. Guess others confirm my suspicion of weird smells from a "scent-free" product.

Wait till it dries, in a matter of seconds. Smell is gone, and the stuff works fantastic. I switched 3 years ago and haven't looked back, and most likely wont.

It's made from vegetable enzymes, and I can't see how a deer would relate cabbage to danger anyway....

Honestly, I try to use as little of these products as I can, although I do use some and have started to question whether or not they really work. I think someone could bottle water and sell it as a scent killer and it would get bought. I have for the last few years washed and dried my clothes with acorns and then let them stay outside. It seems to work sell enough and as for lures, I never use them. I did pick up a synthetic preseason lure that I am going to try. A buddy used it and had good luck.

    Just my 2 cents

Just buy a rubbermaid container and put leaves and dirt in it to store your clothes in it. Fresh Earth smell for free...

Bols, you got it right brotha -campfire is a much better description. And Mobow, I'm with you 100%. I started using it in the early season (this year) and was sold on it from my first experience, just didn't notice that campfire smell in the first bottle.

I store my clothes in a container but, instead of leaves and dirt, I put baking soda on the bottom of it. seems to work.

I put the leaves & stuff in my container. I have to admit my clothes were definitely impregnated w/the "earth scent" I used the DDW stuff all last yr, but unfortunately when I used their antiperspirant, I broke out and stopped using it. I really like the soap, but can't tell which is causing the problem.

The smell does remind me of ashes. I think this is a by-product of any soap making process and since no scents are involved the ash scent comes through.
