Anyone use Stealth Cam? Picked up 6 last years left overs for $50 each. Hope I didn't blow $300 on junk cameras.
I haven't had any problems but have had to purchase a bear box and python cable for all of mine...getting stolen off of private land.
I got a new one last December...takes decent daytime pics at best. Night times pics stink on it..lol. I gave like $100 for it.
I got a variety. I picked up two Delta IR 8s, 2 Archer Choice 8MP, one Skout 7 and 1 Core (So far the core seems like a lower budget camera compared to the others)
I am still using my 2006 stealth cam WD2 white flash camera for basic setups. I wouldnt buy another one though after I started to research. I have not heard much good about them. To me they rank with WildGame Innovations.
Chances are that a garbage price buys a garbage. On Ebay, you can buy a lot of Stealthcams at nose-bleeding prices. Last year, it was Wildview/Tasco on fire-sale. This year, it is Stealthcam, Simmons, Wildgame, Hunten, Big Game. It's time to move to "Long Range" cameras.
I've got 2 Stealth cams. The Stealth cam office is just a few miles from where I live. They are both factory refurbs. Pics are decent, battery life sucks, they only accept a 2Gig card, and I get hundreds of pictures of swaying grass. I'll never buy another. A 2g card will hold approximately 1,000 pictures. Of those, a handful will be legitimate animal pics, the rest are whatever is swaying in the area. I get 2-3,000 pictures out of a battery set, each one holds 6 C cell batteries. They get expensive to feed. All that said, they are on year 4 in the field. All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence; then success is sure - Mark Twain
Ive owned 6-7 over the years, some took very clear photos, but the actual quality of the unit was CRAP. Batteries would last a week or two (200 pictures), trigger time was 3+ seconds, They would just randomly stop working, Customer service was a joke. Dont be fooled just because every retail outfit carries them and Jim Shockey endorses them...there are much better cameras out there...
Last year, Stealthcam's twin brother, Wildview failed, because Wildview's manufacture, CRS, bankrupted, which also dragged down Tasco. With stealthcam fire-sale this year, the company is having trouble ahead. Stores carry them will all lose money. And stores carrying other lousy cameras will also lose money this and next year. sigh!
^^^What does this have to do with the OP question ^^^ I have not had luck with the Stealth cams I had used but that is pretty cheap for a camera. I hope you have good luck them and I am looking forward to the pictures.
Sugar Creek maybe they can change your username and you can be just like the last pick in the NFL draft "Mr Irrelevant" since that would fit your posts better
I don't know where you're getting your information from, but I can assure you it's incorrect. Furthermore, if you keep doing nothing but promoting these new cameras that I'm sure you're somehow affiliated with, we may ask you to leave the forum entirely. With that said - I have 4 of the new Stealth Cam cameras with the ZX7 processor and I'll say they're light years ahead of the Stealth Cams of old. I too had the same problems everyone else did with some of the older units - poor battery life, poor night time photo quality, white out images, etc. With the new ZX7 cameras I haven't experienced any of these issues at all. Using standard Rayovac AA batteres I'm getting 3-4 months of battery life, which is on par with most of the other cameras out there. Image quality is great, video w/audio works awesome on scrapes and trigger speed has been excellent. So far I've been impressed, and we'll see how they hold up. Here's a few pics from last year off one of one of the first cameras with the ZX7 processor.
At first I wanted him gone banned but I think we should keep him around as it is great for business for all other trail camera companies. FWIW He is an owner of Boly media
Here's one of the videos I got off my Stealth Cam
