So I downloaded the scouting assistant from stealth cam and it is looking for a product registration key, or serial #. I downloaded the free version, but I cannot find any type of serial # on my G42NG or the box. Anyone else use this? Im assuming windows media will still allow me to view my pictures, just thought I would check this out.

Were you able to get it registered via the software?

I wasn't able to get mine registered via the software. Invalid serial number error.

Tech support wasn't much help. They are contacting the software manufacturer & they are suppose to be contacting me.

    Strike one stealthcam...

I got an email today, which basically pawned me off on someone else. So I forwarded the same email to this guy. Basically the same issue, invalid serial numbers. I would imagine windows media player would still allow pictures to be viewable? I just updated the firmware on these, so I haven't had a chance to put them out yet.

Yeah you would think they could have a link to register cams. It's not like they don't have a website!!!

You don't have to use the software to view pictures or videos.

I got an email from the software people today that said to try it again. Maybe they made an adjustment of the registration server. I have not tried it yet.

Yeah the options are to fax or mail a form or call to register. It's not that hard to have a web based form to fill out.

    /welcome to 1999?

Got an email that said my serial #'s weren't in their system and to try again. So guess I'll try it again tomorrow.

Why not call them? Takes a minute or two.

after calling support, them contacting the software manufacturer on my behalf and receiving an email from the software manufacturer to try again, I was able to successfully 'register' the camera in the scouting assistant software this morning.

for those having issues, call support and work through the process with them...

Yeah sounds like they just didn't have the serial numbers in the system. Got it working today.
