My dad has been buying Moultree cameras for years now but lately has been having some trouble with their newer models. He's been saying he's gonna switch and I suggested Stealth Cam since I hear a lot about them. He's looking for some simple, easy to setup cameras that take decent pics. There's almost no cell service where we normally hunt to the new camera's would be useless and he's not that tech savvy anyway.

Any suggestions you'd have on some some of the Stealth Cams would be great. Probably in the $100 price range and between 6MP to 8MP would be perfect. Thanks!

You could look at the stealth cam P12 or P14 they are really simple to set up and you can customize them for 1-6 pic burst with 5-160 second delay between activations. They also take 5,10,15,30 second videos if he's interested in videos. They run on 8 AA batteries and I'm going on 2 years with the first set of batteries and they are out taking pics 10 months out of the year.

I buy mine at costal farm and ranch and they are on sale right now 2 for 99.99 but regularly sell 2 for 129.99 so you save some money. Like I said these are pretty simple and take 6mp pics.

Here is a recent one but I can post more if interested.

Thanks! I see Amazon has the P12's for $59 and the P14's for $79 at the moment. The P14 is lacking on the features so do you know what the difference is between the two?

Honestly I don't see any difference in them. I think the 12 is a 6mp camera and the 14 has a 7mp camera. Other than that they are identical. I have 8 P12's and 4 P14's and they have the same features actually I think the presets are a little different but I run mine on custom 3-4 pic burst, or 15 second video.

Don't go super cheap, it's generally a case where cheaper ain't cheaper...if you want a good quality camera get the G42ng and be done with it. They aren't far off $100 and the better pics are well worth the money. If IR doesn't matter everyone says the G30 is a good choice also but I don't own any of those. I love my G42's though.

I have four G30's. They are ok. Nighttime pics are white and trigger is slow sometimes. Other than that overall not bad for the money. $91 on Amazon.

Thanks! I was looking at the G42 last night and the 10MP quality seems worth the extra money to me. I also like the black IR emitters instead of a flash. I know what you mean about cheap is cheap sometimes. Most good cameras seem to be in the $100 range and the Moultrie's he has now are about that price. Thanks again!

Thanks for the input. Do some of the night pics seem a little blurred at times with the slow trigger? I've noticed his other cameras are blurred sometimes. I think I've narrowed it down to the G30 and G42 for him.

Not so much blurry pics as late detection. Supposed to be under a second trigger speed but i get alot of back half of deer and just a bunch of pics where you can tell the cam shouldve taken the pic alot sooner.

I have one G30. It tends to be to bright and white out at night but that can be corrected with a little tape over a few of the LEDs. $88 on Amazon.
