Over the years we have had a number of tresspassers. Some leave tree stands, some leave ground blinds, even a feeder, etc... Anyway, recently someone left a p18 camera with no card in it. I tried the usb to the computer but can't seem to pull up anything. Is there a way that I can recover the internal storage and maybe find out who has been coming on our property? Thanks.

Did you check the settings for the camera name? Might give a clue as to whose it is. Not sure about internal storage

How do you check the settings? Most of my trail cameras are the Walmart special, not a stealth cam.

I'm not sure they have any internal storage anymore.

Well, I guess I will have to settle with "just" the camera!

There is a part of me that feels bad but trespassing on someones property is really low in my book. On top of that, having the audacity to just leave the stuff out there is mind blowing to me. My family found a ground blind a couple years ago and the person came forward, we ended up giving it back, and we have a suspicion that person came back on our property and took a 150-160 buck that we were hunting. I didn't catch him so I can't prove it but after that happened my tolerance and giving people the benefit of the doubt has pretty much vanished.

Understandable, my intolerance of trespassers is known far and wide and is nigh on legendary, lol. I wouldn't feel bad whatsoever for taking a trespassers gear left on my property..they risked losing it and many other things the second they crossed the property line with it.

I read the manual through and doesn't look like they have a camera name setting like the model I have. You could maybe call stealth cam to see if it is registered with them

I wouldnt feel bad at all. All that stuff left behind kinda shows that they are pretty stupid. ID set some cameras high up in a lock box chained to the tree over they're p18 or another decoy camera or something. I absolutely hate trespassers.

I would take the items, and leave a note saying if you want this back you can call the DNR and confess to trespassing on my property or something like that. Most likely you will not hear from them but you give them a chance at least

What I did was I nailed a no trespassing sign to the tree that it was on. I didn't want them to think that someone might of been trespassing on the property and stole their camera.
