I use sandisk, kingston and sony and a few moultrie cards. The G42's can take up to 32gb cards I believe. I've not had any complications with any of my cards.

Sounds good I'm looking at a Lexar brand 16gb card with class 10 speed...I'm assuming that shouldn't be a problem.

I purchased three of these cameras. I love them because of the quality of pictures, video and audio. However, the video drains a tremendous amount of battery.

I don't know why it would be a problem, I have several Sandisk 8gb class 10 cards and they work great. I have one 16 gb lexar card that gets shuffled around and used in all three brands of cameras I operate including the G42's.

I have three G42's and only had a problem with one that the leds quit working. The video files are huge! A 15 second video will use around 50mbs of card space. I hope they have corrected that for 2015.

So how would you compare this model to say a StealthCam P12 in terms of speed and quality of the camera? I know the P12 has a lower MP, but is the quality worth close to double the price?

I don't have a P12 but I'm guessing both use the same sensor so the speed should be the same.

What about battery life? Planning on doing mostly stills vs video. Think it can go more than 2-3 weeks?

Summer I got about 5-6 weeks from regular alkalines but when cold weather hit that dropped to around 3 weeks.

I had one p12 and used it for one month and sold it. The image sensor sucked. you had to be right on the camera for it to take a picture. At night the pictures weren't good at all except if the deer was pretty close to the camera....again. I have two g42ng and a g26ng and they have worked great. Thinking about getting two more for next season.
