Hey guys, do you have any tips on keeping steady on a target? I find myself not being able to hold steady enough to take a good shot lately.

What is your draw weight? Perhaps pulling too much weight?

Are you using a relaxed proper grip? Is your draw length correct?

DL--I have never really ever been able to hold by bow steady. My pin seems to always be floating, so I gauge the float of the pin and release when the time is right.

Make sure that your draw length is fine tuned even down to the 1/8". (George Ryals Professional Form and Shot Execution DVD has a great tutorial on this.) Having a longer ATA bow that has the right mass for you helps. Having a solid backwall to your draw helps. Maintaining proper tension during the shot sequence helps. Being physically fit and breathing properly helps. Having the bow properly balanced (stabilized) helps. Could be a whole bunch of little things or just a whole lot of one thing, hard saying not seeing.
