All the buck activity i have seen on my cameras has been at night. Hopefully this cold front this weekend will bring them out in daylight. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

Hey guys sorry I have been mia for awhile. It's been a crazy busy trip for work and to top it off I have a terrible cold. So it's been work and sleep for me this week. As soon as I land at the Indianapolis airport this afternoon I am heading straight for the farm. I have Monday off so I will have three days of hunting. Just looking at the weather report Saturday and Sunday may be huge days. Even if I have to take enough cold and flu medicine to drug an elephant I will be out hunting! This team needs deer bad. It's not really even about the points at this point. We just need to make sure each of us gets some meat in the freezer. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I get off work today at 3pm and then will head out to do some scouting and hunting. Then Saturday through Tuesday I will be in the woods from sun up to sun down except Sunday when I will be at church for a couple hours. Good luck to everyone that will be in the woods this weekend. And if nothing else be safe! If you are going to be up in a tree make sure you are wearing a safety harness! No deer is worth not making it home to your family. I definitely agree on the meat. Having five mouths to feed instead of four, my grocery bill could definitely use the relief with some venison. As far as the contest is concerned, it is still early.
Only saw one deer this afternoon...not sure what it was. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well stuck one this morning. It started out with a good blood trail but it trailed off and I lost the blood trail going back this afternoon with the landowner to see if I can find it. Hopefully he can give some idea which way he may have gone

Well guys, if you didn't catch it on the live from the stand thread, I shot an 8 pointer Saturday morning. 23 yards quartering away. I thought I had smoked him. He ran out of sight so I waited an hour before tracking. I had outstanding blood for about 150 yards then it started getting spotty. I ended of searching for five hours on a point that led into a river. never found him. This afternoon I went back to look. It had been 35 hours since the shot. Thinking I would find a dead deer with vultures on it, I left my bow at home. That was a mistake. I ended up finding the buck alive in a bed. I probably walked within 10 yards of him yesterday, bow in hand and didn't see him because of the tall grass. I should have backed out and left him undisturbed. He jumped and swam the river but immediately bedded and put his head down. I watched for 10 minutes to make sure he was staying. I am going back in the morning, hopefully the he s dead right there on the shore and I can take a canoe across to retrieve him. If he is gone or still alive, I am not sure what to do. He is on state park land since crossed the river.
Glad to hear that it went well. Will continue to keep you in our prayers. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Call the park ranger or local dnr Land I hunt borders Elm Creek Park reserve usually they just let me in with a call but can not bring weapon in. But one time I told them I thought it would need to be shot again. They came out with a slug gun with me didn't need it though as it was dead.
