Nice find I am excited for this weeks hunt will be able to get out Friday for a evening hunt and all of the weekend.
Got the crossbow sighted in again. It took a phone call and a few emails to PSE but it is on. Hopefully, I can get out with at least one of my older boys this weekend. The one in the dot was my last shot this morning before work. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Awesome! I am glad you were able to get that figured out. Was it an issue with the way the scope was mounted maybe just needed adjusted? I gotta tell ya guys my excitement level just keep going up and up for Sunday. I have put more practice arrows down range this year then ever before. Not that I am going out looking for this shot but I would be comfortable taking a 65 yard shot if conditions were right. We have the most food plots we have ever had planted and most of them from what I have been told are looking great. To top it all off I have had the most mature buck pics leading up to the season then ever before. I am not saying I am going to go out and shoot a nice mature buck opening day (would be nice) but I have definitely setup not only myself but my father in law for the possibility of a great season. Forecast for Sunday is Partly cloudy. high of 76. ESE winds 5-10 mph. I am still torn on hunting Sunday morning. A couple guys who hunt our place are going to hunt in the morning but I just can't decide.
I didn't have the limbs bolted correctly to the frame the first time. Caused me to hit high and way right. PSE sent some pictures and a video, I fixed it and the hitting right immediately went away. I had to adjust up as it has hitting about 8 inches low, but that was easily fixed. I just wish it hadn't taken two weeks to figure it out. My kids could have been practicing a lot more if I had done it correctly the first time.
Well the important thing is you have it fixed now. While it would have been nice for your boys to have more practice luckily a crossbow is pretty easy to get the hang of. If anything go buy one of those cardboard deer targets and have them shoot at that so they can get experience shooting behind the leg or wherever you prefer to aim. Funny story. This year I am trying the Muzzy Trocar HB's and a couple of my buddies have been telling me I need to shoot one just to make sure they fly correctly with my setup. I typically don't like to practice with broad heads unless they have a practice head. Unfortunately the HB's don't have one. Well long story short I finally gave into them and decided to take a 30 yard practice shot at an older target I have so it wouldn't bend the blades or dull them to much. First shot hits exactly where I aimed and kept on going blowing through the target and ending up 4 or 5 rows into the corn field behind my house. Thankfully I was able to find the arrow and no damage was done to the blades even after bouncing off some corn.
Im stoked and ready for saturday morning. Just sighted in at 40 and 50 yards for the first time ever. I wont shot a deer past 40 but kust want to see how i would do. 4 inch group at 50 yards, so im pretty happy with that being my first time. Well I purchased a bow holder for my ATV and I gotta tell ya I am a little disappointed in it. the little rubber band that goes over the bow to hold it in place doesn't want to stay on. I guess I will return it and maybe just get an old soft case to strap to my atv. http://www.motosport.com/product/?a...3214b5a022afc0867_t-1506629926&segment=badger
Super excited for tonight's hunt. Have the perfect NE wind forecasted for one of my favorite spots at the farm.

Zach...are you in an area where you can shoot a buck and a doe(s) or can you only shoot one or the other? Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Wife and I shot some last night just to make sure everything is ready for tomorrow. I am going to get up and hunt the am. I decided that Iwill hunt the food plots in the am and hunt up the steep hill ( about 100ft of elevation change) behind my house in the pm. I have been clearing the trees that fell during the storms the last few months and found a fresh looking scrape. So I kicked leaves all over it to cover it up, then walked up with wife and baby the next night and found that it was scraped out again smelled bad and had fresh buck scat near it. I made a few mock scrapes leading down along a scrape line from last year towards the new food plot. Going to drop a cam up there and use my climber to hunt it. Good luck everyone tomorrow will be a great day in the O-H!
How do plan to get on the food plots without spooking the deer out of them? I always hunt back in the woods off the food plots in the morning to avoid this.
By tonight's hunt I ment this moment I work 3rd shift so that was posted way in the morning. If I don't see any tonight I should of just brought the shot gun on the walk here I could have shot 20 doves
