Buck I bumped today. Want your opinion... younger deer with long main beams or old buck going down hill.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Based on the second picture, I would say older buck going downhill. The body looks mature in that one.

    Another for mature buck.
With the sagging belly, swayed back, and shorter legs I would say this guy is 5 1/2 years or older.
Not sure about going down hill. I bet he has never really had much of a rack

Washing all my clothes today and sorting through my gear. Was also shooting the bow a bit before the bears game started.

Delta McKenzie is actually sending me a new head because the slots for the antlers started to split and the target is only a couple months old. So I figured I would have some fun with it.

It's really nice. The arrows can be tough to pull out but it has taken a good amount of arrows and still looks good.

Went out Saturday morning left at 11am too hot for me and didn't see anything the spot I was in I usually don't see much in the mornings but I knew I wasn't going to be out long and the farm is only 15 mins from my house rather than 45 to my other closest spot.
This weeks weather looks much more enjoyable with highs in the mid to low 60s

    I live in Ramsey
I hunt my family's farm in Dayton. Also the neighbor from Dayton lets me hunt a 40 acre patch he has in clear water.
Sometimes I will hunt the refuge in Zimmerman or Cedar Creek in Andover.

Nope but I always put in for the Elm Creek Park Reserve hunt they wont have one this year but next year I should have enough points to get drawn.
I have always wanted to put in for Bunker Hills too but never have.

I have a buddy that got drawn for Bunk Hills this year. Over the years he has seen so really nice bucks on the metro hunts... usually during the doe only period

Well I bought my Indiana tags today. Might head to Wal-Mart and pick up my Illinois tags tonight too. these last few days before the season are always brutal. The only other thing that compares is the days leading up to my huntcation in early November. LOL!

Hopefully once we are all open for business the deer will start dropping. As long as we all fill our doe tag for the contest we will be in good shape.

Last night I pulled my shot right and put in the 2 x 4 making the edge of
My target. The Slick Trick head is four years old. It has been through four deer and a practice head for the last two seasons. Blades are original and the one that broke broke because I twisted the head pulling it out of the wood. The ferrule is in good shape still. A couple of replacement blades and it will be ready to be back in the quiver.
