45 degrees out this morning in Wisconsin. Hopefully it is the same temp next Saturday for the opener.

Fine tuning my bow this morning. 1st time I have tried this...I think I saw it on a YouTube video. First sighting in left/right. This was done at 5 yards at a 1" strip of duct tape. This was my first shot group and think I am going to leave it as is.[IMG]

Now I am going to go outside and sight in my up and down for either 25 or 30 yards. If anyone else has done this type of tuning feel free to give me some pointers. I shoot a HHA single pin sight and I don't move it when hunting.

Looks like my pin is sighted in for 25 yards. Two of the shots I must have done something wrong.[IMG]

At 35 yards they drop pretty good, where I would have to adjust where I am holding to make a good shot.[IMG]

This is at 40 yards holding on the black at the top of the target. For reference is is 11" from the top to the center of the duct tape. When hunting I do use a range finder, but still prefer shots under 30 yards.[IMG]

Looks like you are doing well. I went through a similar process when I set up my Black Gold Single Pin a couple of years ago. Looks like that if you leave it set at about 27 or 28 yards and practice well, you could shoot to 35 without moving the pin. I leave mine on 25 and can shoot to 30 without moving it. The woods I hunt in, I can't shoot further than that.

Probably 98% of the areas I hunt all of my shoots are under 30 yards. That is why I like shooting a single pin.

I like the clear site picture a single pin gives you. I have an HHA king pin .10.
Just bought the sun shade for it and I like it alot.

Well turned my bow down 1 3/4 turn feels around 65 to 70 pounds, wont know exactly until i get to the bow shop but my groups are a lot tighter with no visible arrow wobble in flight. Looks good for twenty and thirty yards.

You will be happy there once you have made sure you are still sighted in. Still plenty to kill deer but you will be more confident. As a bonus, you will be able to hold a full draw longer.

Yeah I had to make some small adjustments to the sights since the fps stopped with the lower weight, but all sighted in and ready to rock and roll.

I would shoot at a dot from 25yds and double check your left and right. 5yds away for left and right isn't fine tuned enough for me. You're shooting good anyway.

Shawn Ill check when I get home from work but I have a box of Levi Morgan gold tips. not sure of weight ect if you think they would work for you they are yours to take. I live in Newark/ Heath area and would meet up with you. I shoot at 70 lbs. I can draw more but with my arthritis in my hands and wrists...and back and knees... you get the picture lol. I wouldnt want to not be able to draw it cold.

Hey man it's hard to turn down OT when you can get it these days.
I am traveling this week for work. I am in Plainview NY.

Good luck to you guys who have seasons that have started.
