You beat me to it! Liberty and Prettyboy. I fished Prettyboy last Friday and will be back this coming weekend. We got into some big ones but nothing like the state record. Do I believe a record fish lives in either of those? Absolutely. As for the original post, my answer is the same as lastoneout. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.skyangler.com

They are very active at Prettyboy right now. Haven't gotten the 5-6 range but caught 3 that were 3# each. Two largemouth and one smallmouth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.skyangler.com

This is what I was getting at as well. The record is 50 hear in Ohio. And I know I have seen them over 40. So it's just matter of time Til somebody beats the 46 year old record.
I cant say I ever been close or thought I was gonna get one, but I fish enough that I know I have a chance. Im always on the move, fish different spots all the time, and you never know where the next record will come from. Only thing I have against me is I pretty much only bass fish, so Im limited for the most part to small mouth or large, and maybe pickerel since I catch them a lot bass fishing and at the cabin. I doubt Ill ever catch any records, but with the amount of fishing and all Ive learned over the years, I thin my odds are above average.
It is a rush. It's just a ridiculous amount of time necessary for every fish. We average probably around 1 fish per every 50 hours of time on the water or ice. I've only been doing it for about 5 years now and if I have one flag or bite a year I'm doing good based on the amount of time I've got to put in. But our average fish there is over 40" and there really aren't a lot of people that know how to do it consistently so they big ones aren't getting hammered by pressure which is good. I'm 100% convinced the next North American record is coming out of this lake and there are likely less than 10 people that know how to catch the big fish in this lake so I do think it's a real chance. Here are a couple of pics of some of the big ones that friends/family have caught.
