I actually don't usually watch the SOTU, was watching the UK-Vandy basketball game but kept turning back to the speech. Trump doesn't always give the best of speeches as that is not his natural talent but I felt he acquitted himself very well. Even though I didn't agree with Obama in nearly anything politically he was a mesmerizing speaker. I thought the speech was a little long, had a few to many obligatory introductions of guests (not that they weren't deserving of recognition) but, in large part, conveyed where we are and where he wants things to go. My wife commented that the Dems didn't support anything that he said but it would not have mattered if he had agreed with all they want in their agenda they would not have clapped at anything he said. The battle lines seem to be firmly entrenched between the parties. I like a tough stance on immigration and against terrorism and I support a change in the ROE for our troops overseas. I feel that almost every American will benefit from the tax cuts. I support the infrastructure initiative and also attempting to get the regulatory landscape under control. I am associated with a company, been trying to construct a 6.5 mile section of a highway as part of a larger project for the last 11 years. A joint project between the state highway department, federal highway administration, the landowner and the private company. The private company would construct 6.5 miles of a 4 lane, limited access highway and turn it over to the state and federal highway departments, the landowner would donate the property and it would save the taxpayers approximately 120-150 million dollars. We have been tied up in red tape for 11 years and spent well over $4 million dollars just in engineering and permitting fees. He is absolutely correct about it taking way to long for these projects to get from drawing board to actually doing the work. Our government simply doesn't work anymore and if he can do something to help it work for the people then he will have accomplished a great deal during his presidency.

I didn't watch it. I pretty much know the state of the union already. The Liberal mafia think they own the country and have waged war on the American public at large. They'll fight tooth an nail to make sure their grip on the nation to shove it face first into the grinding wheel of progressive perversion doesn't slip.

Trump took bows for what he has accomplished--dems acted like 12 year school old girls----Trump explained what he is hoping to accomplish this year---the dems acted like 12 year old school girls, Trump applauded and thanked many American heros, Dems acted like 12 year old school girls--Well that was about it !!!!!

Every R running for federal office in 2018 should just run a picture-in-picture of Trump's statements and Dems' reactions (or lack thereof)

Black unemployment at lowest levels ever? Black Caucus angry and stone-faced
MS-13 being taken off the streets? Dems booing and hissing
Chants of USA-USA? Gutierrez literally running out the back door
American trade policies benefiting Americans? Pelosi looking like she didn't trust that fart she just eased out

I've never seen such a pro-American speech in my life, and Dems just sat on their hands and/or bood. One could argue that DJT is taking credit for results he actually had no hand in; but one cannot argue that it was nakedly pro-American. And Dems looked like they wanted to throw up. A great and powerful America makes Dems sick to their stomachs. That is the state of the current Democrat Party.

I personally despise Trump's lack of historical moral compass and his childish inabilities to avoid "tweeting".....but the speech was very good. Very very good.

Well that fits the entire party's mentality, at least the leadership of the modern liberal party that now IS the democrat party. Ted Nugent said the one greatest line I've heard yet on Hannity's show years ago. "The democrat party is the party of pimps and whores" Ted Nugent. They're like maggots rolling in decaying slime. Hell no they aren't going to like a cleaner and more prosperous America. They'd prefer a detroit like post apocalyptic dystopia full of slaves with a diminished moral compass like their own.

To be fair....Ted has a history of game law violations about as predominant as Trump's careless moral compass...neither IMO are men I look up to...despite agreeing with them both more than disagreeing with on political viewpoints.

Ted's moral compass is not so hot either, so glad that DB moved to Texas.

Yeah but when a repugnant pedofile talks you don't listen as close or give them the same credence.

Hmm, well I know the left loves to bash him with that at every turn as do some conservatives. The fact is that he was a hard rocker at that time and not that old himself and those girls he admitted to being "addicted to" were 17-18 and literally throwing themselves at him in droves. It's a little unrealistic for most any hot blooded american (or any nationality) guy to honestly say they could reliable look and not touch under those conditions.

Justifiable? Probably not...understandable...sure. It's not like he was a pedophile lurking a van around neighborhoods offering candy to 8 year olds. To be honest, it's pretty easy to get snookered by jail bait aged girls. They rarely tell the truth about their age and they aren't very often really dependable to guess by looking at either. Anyone who has been around teenage girls know they lie about their age and try to look older than they are. They also often go after older guys on purpose for the excitement of it. I've had teenage girls seriously flirt with me in my late 30's. Looking back I'm not sure I'm proud of the fact I mostly ignored them either.

Ted gets bashed because to any reasonable person he’s a DB.

He cheats at hunting, his wives and cheated his way out of the military. I’d listen to the ramblings of a squirrel than that DB.

I've never been a fan either to be honest. I've never sought out vids of him or anything like that. Honestly I find his "music" horrendous. The only reason I heard him say that quote I posted earlier was because I was already watching Hannity at the time. This was like 8 years ago. I no longer watch much of anything on TV...Fox news or CNN or any other outlets. Nugent always struck me as crazy AF.

I still have to laugh in agreement with much of what he says politically. I don't have to like him personally to agree with some things he says. Ted Bundy may say the sky is blue on a clear day and I could agree with that without conflict as well. I can agree with that statement because I know it from first hand experience, not agreement by respect of opinion.

Very well said. A lot of folks disagree with and bash Ted because of the simple fact that he is Ted Nugent...much like how liberals dislike and bash Trump because he is Trump. People refuse to even stop and think about the substance of what is being said simply because of who is saying it, which is sad.
