Ive got a 3 year old and Ive got him using a compound bow like toy sold at Gander Mt. He likes to shoot his suction cup arrows along side dad. Im dying to get him a starter bow. When did yours start shooting a real bow?

About a month ago, it is a Martin Tiger. He is having a blast with it.

Great to see brother, I started my son at 5 with a recurve and he loves it. Its always good to see a dad doing what dads should do, very tired of lazy dads telling their kids to go play video games WTG:tu::rock::woot:

Wish more parents would take this approach.... give them the option and let them have FUN.... I got a 1.5 yr old and all he says is DEER.... everytime I shoot. I hope he enjoys shooting as much as me. He will def have the option and support from our family.
Very cool and thanks for posting man!

Very good shootin!' Sorry, I can't help but laugh at your deer target though. It's head is proportioned no where close to it's body. :D

Put me as another in the "awesome" category. I just got my daughter a Bear 1st Shot for her 5th birthday about 2 weeks ago. I was looking for something with a low enough draw weight, and this Bear was 8 lbs, its more of a long bow. This Martin might be a good upgrade in a year or so when she can draw a bit more weight.

Her targets aren't quite as cool as yours, and her bow doesn't have quite the sticking power. She is shooting at brown paper bags filled with hay, but she is loving it.

I've been trying to get my daughters as well as my nephews into bows as well. I asked my 5 year old daughter if she wants a bow for her 6th B-day. She said she wants one with the plungers on the end...lol can't argue with that. I did buy my 4 year old daughter a little recurve for her 4th b-day she loves bows. I tried to get her a 200 dollar diamon youth bow but my wife wasn't having it and both my nephews shoot the bear youth compound bow.

You mean your deer don't look like that, maybe it has something to do with me living close to a nuclear plant, lol.
