Hey guys, first post here. Me and my wife have been looking into bowhunting for a bit now but for financial reasons, we haven't been able to.

Now we're ready to get started and from another post on this site, we found this site. We'd like to keep our budget to the 4 options in the 499's. Just wanted some opinions on which way to go since we've read and heard about each brand being good. So between Bear, PSE, and Diamond, which would you recommend.

We plan to use this bow together to learn and gain experience, then this will become hers while I buy my own more expensive one.

I know this probably gets posted daily so thank you for taking your time to answer another.

    -Mike

We have not shot any. We would like opinions on which one is the best quality to get us into the sport. I understand we should test some and ask a professional but I don't believe we have much access to that in our area and would like to just go on a whim and try it out.

    hehe

the best thing you can do for yourself is shoot as many bows in your budget and compare. i'm willing to bet that most people on here will say about the same thing.

i've had both good and bad experiences with the brands you mentioned. each bow will feel different in the shooter's hand.

This can't happen, different people have different draw lengths, and poundage requirements, you will each need a bow from the start....

What bowsniper said, plus - What do you want to do? Hunt? Target shoots? Club tournies? 3d? That could make a difference with your bow selection. Also, check out any archery stores with ranges to see if they may rent range time and equipment. I started out that way many moons ago. Good luck and welcome.
