After much looking, research and reading I finally bought myself a new camera.

Ended up going with a Nikon D60 paired with a couple lenses... a VR 18-55 mm and 55-200 mm. Still got another inch or so of owner's manual to read, LOL.

    First few shots with it..

Nice shots, Greg! Congrats on the camera. My future father in law just purchased a D60. He hasn't had much time to play with it, but it's a great camera. It's solid replacement for the D40, and the body is still small enough to keep it portable which will be nice if you want to take this in the field with you. I really like the bird silhouette shot.

Cool, I never knew I liked to take pics until I bought my digital camera for my hunt in Namibia a couple years back! I took around 2000 while there and probably 5000 more since then! It sure is good fun! Great pics Greg!

Cool Greg. I just got the D60 too.

Read the manual?? Mine came with two dvds and I haven't even watched them both yet. ;) I'm doing the 'hey, what's this button do?' method of learning. LOL.

I look forward to seeing some more great pics from you.

I hear ya, Christine... I'll be doing plenty of that, too; great thing about digital photography -- doesn't cost anything to just try stuff.

I think I'm gonna like this thing... ;)

    Quality looking pics

I have found that photography can be just as addicting as other outdoor activities.
