After successfully tagging an archery deer for 12 consecutive seasons after my first kill ever, I struck out last year. It was an awful year for deer sightings, and I just couldn't get it done. This year, I have taken a new temporary job in November and December that will allow me to save enough to pay for my last year of school without a loan. However 60-72 hour work weeks weren't going to allow time to hunt. It was October or bust I felt like. Going into today I had sat a few times and had already blown deer sightings out of the water from all of last year. Passing a few young bucks, but the does had stayed out of range, and the big boys were ghosts. I took off with my Lone Wolf stand and sticks this afternoon to a spot that just seemed like a killing spot. About 5:30 4 does filtered into the cut corn straight to the standing corn that was still up after the farmer got rained out. One slowly fed my way as I ranged her at 34 yards. I drew and waited for her to stop broadside, and she did. Whack!!! It looked like someone shot her with a red paintball as the G5 Striker entered into her lower front shoulder area. I thought I heard her crash, but was still surrounded by deer. Finally after another hour the remaining does cleared out and let me descend. It felt good to get back on top after last year. Sorry for no in the field photos, she died in a bedding area that I like to stay out of so I was doing my best to stay under the radar. I do however have a pic of my breakfast for when I get back from tomorrow morning's hunt!! Guess my Striker did a little tenderizing of the old gal's ticker.
Nice work! Also nice work getting work done and not taking out loans. That will pay huge dividends in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
