What do you guys recommend for a good stand/step system for packing it in and out each time you hunt. I got some public land not far from me and have never hunted it and I'm willing to try it out, but do to stand theft I'll have to pack it in and out each hunt. Don't really wanna get a climber. I'm just looking for something that would be easy to carry in and set up.

I have been pondering the same thing lately, originally I was going to get a climber. But after using my friends, I have come to realize that it is very hard to find a straight tree with no large branches. I have pretty much decided that I'm going to get Muddy climbing sticks, and then just get another Big Game hang on stand.

I started using the Lone Wolf Alpha this season. I love the set-up so far. I also have a Summit Viper that I like a lot but as mentioned I'm more limited to the tree I can climb in it.

I hunt almost totally on public land so cutting limbs is not allowed this makes hunting with a climber almost impossible. Because of this I purchased a Lone Wolf stand and sticks and couldn't be happier. I wouldn't use my climber now for anything. The Lone Wolf is super quiet, packs great and is easy to setup. Definetly the way to go!

Lone Wolf is the best I have found. This is my first season with this setup, and it was worth every penny.

Expensive, but everyone seems to think its worth the money. The sticks say they come in a three pack, how high are you guys getting with them?

I bought a 4th stick and after some practice (and a single screw in step) I can get to between 18-20 feet. And yes they are worth the money.

With my 3 steps, I can get around 15 feet. I may stretch mine out a bit far though.

However, as soon as I find a 4th stick I'm buying it.

If you dont want a climber, Lone Wolf makes a really nice carry in hang on.

But, why no climber ? Just because you need a specific trunk on the tree ? Climbers are WAY more comfortable, especially for all day sits..Just my opinion.

If you hunt almost exclusively public land you aren't allowed to cut branches. This makes climbers so difficult and you end up hunting out of trees that you could get into with sticks!

    I would definetly go sticks!

New Lone Wolf Alpha stand and LW stick user .... I am blown away how easy it is to hang the steps and stand ... and I only practiced twice....

I also have a Lone Wolf Climber, and unlike other people, I find the hang on more comfortable due to the fact I like to stand 90% of the time.

Ah....With regulations like that I can understand why sticks would be more convenient..

I also hunt public land and I use a Lone Wolf Alpha stand and LW sticks. I'm very pleased with my set up. I took a doe on my first set up last week.

With practice it becomes just as easy. After several sits and a couple times practicing, I'm just as quick setting up with my LW as I am with my Viper. My personal routine is that I attach the stand to me via a pull rope. I set the first stick, with the remaining 3 sticks secured together hanging on my back. I am able to climb and set each stick without having to climb down to get them. Once all sticks are set, I pull up my stand and set it. Climb down attach bow to pull rope and then I'm set. (I should mention that I use a lineman's rope for safety while attaching the sticks and stand). I've set everything up with only having to climb down once.
