Depends on what stand I'm in. My climber is always shooting while standing. I can shoot sitting in either my alone Wolf or Muddy hang-on stands.

90% of the deer I've shot have been from a seated position. I guess I've never seen any reason to stand for the shot unless the deer is positioned to my right? I don't practice from a seated position as it has never felt any different to me than shooting while standing? I bend at the waist either way.

I practice, and have shot deer, standing and sitting; on the ground and elevated. If you're in a ground blind ... sitting is likely your only option! I prefer standing, and will do so at my first opportunity ... verrrrry slowwwwwly.

Every situation is different. I try to stand as soon as i hear or see the deer if possible and get bow ready. Draw back when deer is not looking in your direction or behind a tree. Its something you will learn over time just do when you feel you have best opportunity of not getting busted. Always be alert in stand because they def can sneak up on you if your not alert
