On my bow I have a standard cheap cable set, but I want to get rid of the tube peep and install a tubeless version. I don't really want to change the strings as I'll be upgrading bow around January anyway. Can I still move to a tubeless peep with a sub-par cable set?

I switched from tubed to tubeless peep on my Bear bow with the factory string with no ill effects. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. My wife's Bear bow came from the factory with a tubeless peep.

Yes. Just make sure you have equal amounts of strings on both sides. If push comes to shove you can put a few twists in the string to make sure it stays straight. May take a little tweaking but one you have it you will be set.
