I got out about an hour or 45 mins. before first light. Like to leave my self a little more time early on in the season while I adjust to walking into the dark woods. I am ADD so I can't sit much past 10 or 11 a.m. In the afternoon I will climb back in between 3 and 5. If I climb in at 3 I usually don't see anything until after 5 anyway.
I usually like to be in the stand an hour before legal shooting light, but I agree with someone else who said I think it does more damage than good, because it's when deer are moving the most IMO. I'm focussing on more afternoon hunts this year, I plan on being in the stand 230-300 the latest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't do mornings, my land is a night club for deer and lately seems like every night is ladies night
I'm a midday hunter. Typically, our deer don't start showing up until 9ish. We have all the bedding. During rut, an hour before and until I legally can't hunt anymore. Sent from my IPhone 5S.
I sit till theirs blood on the ground!!!!! Normally means I have to cut my finger so I can go home and eat
I don't hunt mornings until late October, unless I have a specific buck that I think I can catch on his way back to bed. Then I'll get there as early as I need to and sit for about an hour after first light. Afternoons I usually spend about 2 hours in the stand.
I go in with enough time to get set up 45 min-1 hour before that's usually enough time to get settled in and ready. I usually stay in until 10:00am or so. I use to come out at 9:00-9:30 but, kept getting busted nearly every time I would come out.
All depends on the spot. We have some spots that are deeper in the woods and the deer seem to have 2 waves. One first thing in the morning and another around 10 or so. We usually try to stay on stand until 11 and then hunt someplace else in the afternoon. Don't like to be in and out too many times to leave a lot of scent around. Other places we only sit for a couple hours if they are closer to food sources and they are coming off the fields.
I'll be doing some all day sits on the weekends when season opens in October here considering I only have about 3 weeks until I move to Texas once bow season opens!
I usually get to my stands 1hr before sunlight and sit til 930-10am and the evenings 2-3pm til I can't see anymore. Rut I will hunt til 1030am and get back in stand at 1pm
Usually get in about 1-1.5 hours before sunrise and sit til 1000-1030. Then if I'm not sitting all day, back in about 2-3 pm and out about an hour after dark. “In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsmen.” -Theodore Roosevelt
In the morning ill sit typically till around 1030 11 and break for lunch and head back out around 130 2... now during the rut ill bring a good snacks and sandwiches and sit all day... A lot of my bucks have been taken either around 9am and 2pm and 5pm
