I have been hunting in this area for a couple of years now and I would just like a couple of different opinions on stand location for this area. The only problem is I am only allowed to hunt above the orange line. The bedding area is very thick, you can only see 10-15 yards in front of you. I usually only hunt in the hardwood section and see many deer moving on the edge of the bedding area. Thank you in advance! Lower piece.jpg

The key to a great stand location is your entrance/exit route. Since you have hunted the place for awhile you probably have a good understanding of the travel patterns of the deer your hunting. I would place a stand for sure on the edge of the hardwoods. Place another along a fence crossing next to the fields using a different wind direction.

Figure out where the deer are feeding and try to intercept them to one of those pastures. During the rut you can either set up next to a field of some sort (looks like you have many) or a bedding area, a lot of the bucks ive seen during the rut will come out of a wood line and look for a doe in the field, (thats when a doe decoy can work well). And go into the bedding areas VERY carefully, and try rattling. Hope this helps.
