I like the Onnex with the thumb safety.
This release was easier to get used to than a regular hinge release.
It was very comfortable having control of the hinge release with the thumb safety.
The Perfex thumb was my first move away from hinges.
The Thumb release gave me confidence knowing that I was in control of the shot.
The Onnex is making me comfortable using a hinge.
Practice to perfect your shot timing.

Once I bought the correct size for my fat fingers, it shot like a dream. The trigger is crisp, clean. The release itself is solid in the hand. It is so adjustable, it will work for anybody. I cannot say enough about it. Stan knocked it out of the park with this release.

I wasted 120$ on a TRU ball max pro + and it destroyed my D-loop. Should’ve just spent an extra 100 and bought a Stan

I use a TrueBall Boss X (rotating caliper head), dont think its made any longer. Had it for years, never had a problem with loops like that ^^^ .. I am still using it...

If you take some finer grit sand paper and sand the release it will stop freying your d-loop. There is more than likely a burr on the inside of the caliper. I usually do this when i get a new release just to avoid the freying.

What are the advantages/disadvantages to shooting a thumb? I’ve currently got a trigger and never shot anything else…

I have tried Truball Abyss Flex, Truball Abyss X Tension and Truball Assassin XT trigger ... for this year i have ordered a Stan ONNEX Thumb release and I hope it will feel better , I had to choose between Truball Ultimate Flex and Stan ONNEX Thumb Release ... my choice was ONNEX . Also another factor of my choice was that frm 2024 Truball charges extra for the 4th finger piece and other accesories and that would be like almost 50$ extra on a 420$ release... I hope I have chosen right .
I will be back with my opinion on Stan ONNEX Thumb release after I will shoot some sessions with it .

You "didn't" notice an issue and kept going and complained about the issue. As a passed poster said, "most people are the cause of their own suffering"
