Anyone do this? Got a ground blind which I want to try later. Too gimpy for a tree stand. Next week, weather is good with cool temps. A local WMA is for bowhunting only through Dec. 8th. Going to see w hat happens. TIA.

I personally like hunting from the ground, assuming there's some cover around (trees, tall grass, etc.). I've had pretty good luck with it in the past, and if I can do it, anybody can!

I've done a lot of still hunting for them, pretty similar to stalking.
Glass, glass, glass. And then glass some more.
I'd move very slowly and glass a lot. Really pick apart. Looking for a dark outline, a piece of white color, a twitching ear...
Then slowly walk a bit further and do it again.
It takes a lot of patience, every time I wasn't as slow and careful as I knew I should be I'd end up seeing that white flag going away.
It is easier when they have girls on their mind.

it ain't going to happen in this part of the state. they are way to psychotic to allow it. it's too thick and you would bust em out 99% of the time..

In my woods, stalking/still hunting would never work. I'm lucky to kill one from a tree!

John, you can do it. Just like anything, the more you do it the better you will get. The wind and the ability to stay quiet will help obviously. Give it a go and have fun with it.

Yep all about glassing and inching. I’d only do it with a good wind where I felt confident in not getting busted. Late standing corn is a good bet as well.
