Thinking of trying something new today. Haven't seen too many does in near my treestand. I hunt public land in E. Tenn. There is an area in the woods with a lot of thick brush and tight places. This area is about 4 acres. My friend and I kicked up 7 doe yesterday moving one of our stands. They came from this 4 acres I am talking about. Today is a real mild rain/sprinkle. I am thinking about trying to go in with bow in hand and see if I can find any does. I am going to try and hunt for the big bucks closer to the rut. I just want to put some meat in the freezer right now. Does anyone have any suggestions or some other ideas that might help? Thanks everyone.

I often spot & stalk in fog, light and even fairly heavy rain...covers your sound and scent and isn't hard. Just move very very slow, stop and glass alot, turn around and check your six after every 6 steps (you'd be surprised what you see sometimes) and look hard in areas where there's adequate cover from the weather. Deer will move from one side of a mountain to the other once the real weather starts. Last piece of advice, don't take an iffy shot (not suggesting you would) but the water will make your blood trail disappear quickly so ya gotta get that pin on the right spot and get very close (which thankfully is easier to do in the weather). Good luck.
