Who all uses stabilizers when hunting whitetails? I personally don't like them but may buy and use one with my new bow I'm plannin on buying for next season. Any opinions?
There's times when I'm at full draw for over a minute and I think having a stabilizer will just add extra weight. Is it worth the weight? What benefits do they even have?
Most of the new "high tech" stabilizers are fairly light weight & you won't even notice it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have the Pine Ridge Nitro on mine and really like it. The added weight is minimal but the improved balance and vibration reduction make it worth it! Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk 2
Its worth the added weight for the increased accuracy, stability and vibration reduction they offer. I couldnt imagine hunting without one.
Ive been shooting axion products for the last year and no complaints here. Have also shot the nap apache and ktech and there bot great too.
Most hunting stabilizers are no more than dampeners and vibration eliminators. Some are beneficial for stabilization but, most hunting stabilizers you won't even see a difference. I personally do not notice a difference in a stabilizer at all unless I am either shooting spots or I am shooting out at long distances (40+). Even then, an 8" or under makes no difference on my bow unless it has significant weight added to it. 10"+ is when I start to see a difference. I shoot and hunt with a 10" stabilizer now an it does help some. The benefit to a stabilizer that actually does stabilize is bow balance and torque reduction. The balance helps hold more steady and the torque reduction well, it reduces side to side movement so that you are shooting more accurately and not having shots hit left and right as much. There are defined benefits with both hunting and target stabs.
They actually can do quite a bit of help. Reduction of vibration can help on longer shots. Vibration equals noise and deer can drop fast. If it takes the arrow longer to get there and the sound gets there first, the deer will NOT be in the same place he was when you put your pin on him. Also the weight helps stabilize your bow in your hand when gripped right.
Great explaination right here couldnt agree more. I am now using my 7" octane hunter for the 5th year, and it does the job well. Dampens noise and vibration like very well. I have had otherstabilizers in the past and used different ones from friends but i keep using my octane on my bows, i love it.
