Dont use extruded acrylic rod, it has imperfections in it. Use the cast rod which costs alot more. Then you can find a machine shop to machine the hardware for about $25, thats if they will do just enough for one stabilizer. Most places require a minimum order so good luck with that. Then you need to get them dipped or powdercoated which will be another 20-30 bucks. In the end, its cheaper to just buy one!
Yeah, I didn't realize they were only like $70-80 bucks. The site I saw them on they were well over $100.
The Centerpunch Stabilizers are much cheaper than most other high end stabilizers and offer alot more custom finish options. We wanted to make a stabilizer that looks like it was made for your bow while keeping the price as low as possible. Who else lets you design your own finish?
It's not as long but the Sims S-coil has really good vibration dampening for a short cheap stabilizer, I never noticed anything with the Octane 7" it just looked sweet.
I shot a Stokerized 10" Hunter with a Saturn weight on the end on my bow at the range tonight. I liked the weight that it added and the improved stability, but it was worse than my fuse axium for vibration dampening. I've got an Sims X-Coil I might try again and if that doesn't float my boat, I might be off to a different archery shop to try something else (like the Apache).
