Just got my stabilizer in the mail today. I was wondering if a 5" stabilizer would be a good length for hunting. I have seen some people with stabilizers way longer then 5". I usually hunt from a ground blind and Im ok shooting from 20 to 30 yards. I plan on putting it on my bow(Diamond ROck 2.0) as soon as i get a chance. I guess my question is, if i do most of my hunting at 20-30 yards will i be able to see a differnce in accuracy with this stabilizer? Any info on stabilizers would be helpful

A 5" stab is basically for noise and vibration more than stabilizing. You probably won't see much, if any, difference in accuracy. I use a 10" and I only really see a difference in accuracy past 40 yards.

SD, do you hunt with a 10" stabilizer or do u take part in competition shooting?......Since im doing most hunting at 20-30 yards should I stick with the 5" stabilizer? Being that im pretty accurate already at that yardage without the stabilizer should i just use it to eliminate noise and vibration... I dont think ill be taking shots over 30 yards.

use whatever you want to use , its pretty much personal preferance , if you want something for vibration and noise get a Sims , i use a 6'' dead center carbon stab with a doinker and a end weight , it brings it out to 9'' , anything from 8'' to 11'' is perfect for me .

Yes I do hunt with a 10" stab. If you feel you are accurate enough at the ranges you would take a shot on a deer, you could just go with eliminating noise and vibration. If you can try out other stabs to see what feels best to you I would recommend doing that. This is just like everything else with your set-up, it's what feels best in your hands. Try different things out and go with whatever meets your needs the best. You could find that a different stabilizer will help you at ranges under 30 yards.
