LOL... you could be opening up a can of worms with that one. Strother has his legions of fans, and he is/was a good bow designer. Most of his bows tend to look exactly alike, but with a different company's name on them every year or two. Therein lies the problem: He doesn't stay with any one company more than that, so you're taking your chances on the company being around and/or warranties, etc.
He was a big part of the beginnings of bowtech becoming the big company they are until the relationship blew up. He then was instrumental in getting Elite started and to the level they are. Now he is off to greener grasses with Strother Archery. His track record makes him seem like a head case, but then again you can't argue his success rate or the quality of bows he designs. I would buy one, if I was into the whole buying bows scene.
He's no longer with Strother Archery. After yet another split with a company, he started K&K... which I hear is almost defunct already. And the saga continues...
Kevin is probably one of the best bow designers out there right now.. Just can't work with anyone To the OP's original question. The Strothers, I think, are some of the best shooting and looking bows out there.
I shot every bow on the market from Hoyt, Mathews, Bowtech, Bear, Diamond, Elite, Martin and Strothers and I picked the Strothers bow as my shooter. It is probably one of the best bows I've ever shot. As for the company, I believe I talked with someone affiliated with the company and they are working very diligently at not only staying in the market but also improving their market share. If you have any doubts about the quality of these, I dare you to try shooting them, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
