Finally purchased a new safety harness. The harness comes with a tree belt, linemans belt and an SRD strap. Not sure what an SRD strap is. I didn't get too fancy. Just purchased a 'cheap' harness that is better than the one I already have. I purchased the Big Game Ez-On Basic Safety Harness. So, my question is, what is an SRD strap? Thanks everyone.
Suspension Relief Device. It is a strap that in the event of a fall you will use it to relieve the pressure of the harness on your legs, which can cause suspension trauma, which can kill you in 20 minutes. Hope this helps, V
What kind of stands do you hunt from? Also, always use extra steps to make re-entry possible in case of a fall. A strap does little good if all you do is dangle to death.
I have a climber. All I hunt is public property, so I always use a climber. Thanks for the replies everyone. Looked online for an idea of what this strap was, and couldn't find any. Lol. Plus, I should say to everyone that I purchased this harness online. I just ordered it yesterday. I haven't had a new harness in a while, so...wasn't sure what everything was.
Might want to consider canceling the order and get a Black diamond vario speed harness. About $50 and no SRD strap necessary. It hooks in the front and pulls the straps away from the femoral artery.
