In Ohio Starts Tuesday along with Dove.
Does anyone else use Squirrel season to do some real in depth scouting? I'm not talking about your private pockets, but generally 3000 up to 20,000 thousand acre, public areas. I've found some of my best spots when taking the .22 for a walk. The squirrels seem to be secondary to getting back in the bush and exploring some new territories you may not reach, under normal bow hunting circumstances.

I'm stoked to get back in the woods!

No. I use every winter to do that.

    Have fun with the squirrels.

Yeah..I knew I'd get that response..or someone commenting on getting back in the woods.

I do scouting and exploring in the off-seasons too, but, I'm talking about being in the game with a weapon in hand. It's a different mindset at least for me.

It isn't a response. It is my honest answer. I haven't went squirrel hunting in probably 13 years. Probably won't go again unless lil bucko shows interest in it.

Ilove chasing those critters with my bow, too much fun! I always have about 4 or so extra arrows with judos just for that reason during the deer season!

I definetely hunt the squirrels but not in my deer hunting areas. Its one of the best ways to hang out with my kids and teach a little hunting safety and ettiquete. it is great practice for anyone young I think. squirrel and dumplings does sound good.

Squirrel Season is a blast. I enjoy how it coincides with our whitetail season here in MD...Check the link out as it is a little thing we put together last season...
